MARS Gripping Face Primer It’s Glow O’ Clock Primer

Want your makeup to look fresh, radiant and well blended instead of flat or dull? The MARS Gripping Face Primer It’s Glow O’ Clock Primer is a gel based face primer designed to give your skin a dewy appearance while helping foundation adhere to the skin. Its hydrating ingredients and luminous finish make it an option for anyone who enjoys glowing makeup rather than a completely matte base.

Whether you’re getting ready for everyday wear, a party or a special occasion, this primer can help prepare your skin for complexion makeup. In Bangladesh’s warm, humid weather, applying the right amount and layering your products carefully can make a difference to how your makeup looks and wears.

Detailed Product Overview

The MARS It’s Glow O’ Clock Primer combines makeup preparation with a glow enhancing finish. Unlike a traditional pore blurring primer designed primarily to create a smooth, matte appearance, this product focuses on radiance and a hydrated looking complexion.

Its formula contains glycerin, butylene glycol and sodium hyaluronate, ingredients commonly used in cosmetics to help attract and retain moisture. These can help the skin feel more comfortable before makeup, especially when dryness makes foundation look uneven.

The ingredient list also includes niacinamide and Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, commonly known as green tea extract. The formula contains sodium ascorbyl phosphate, a vitamin C derivative, and retinyl palmitate, a vitamin A derivative. Their presence does not mean this primer should be treated as a dedicated brightening or anti ageing skincare product. Its main purpose is makeup preparation.

The gripping effect is intended to help makeup adhere to the skin. However, results can vary depending on your skincare underneath, foundation formula, application technique and skin type. It is not a substitute for setting powder or setting spray when you need additional makeup longevity.

Texture, Finish and Everyday Wear

This primer is described as a gel based formula with a luminous, dewy finish. It is a good option if you prefer skin that looks fresh and radiant rather than powdery or completely matte.

The glow can complement natural makeup, soft glam, party makeup and bridal looks. It can also work beneath a lightweight BB cream when you want a more radiant complexion.

For the best application, use a thin layer and allow it to settle before applying foundation. A gripping primer may feel slightly tacky, which is part of the intended makeup adhering effect. Applying too much product or rubbing foundation vigorously over the base may interfere with an even finish.

Keep in mind that a dewy primer does not automatically make makeup sweatproof or waterproof. In hot and humid Bangladeshi weather, oily areas may still need a light dusting of setting powder.

Who Is It For?

The MARS It’s Glow O’ Clock Primer may suit:

Normal to dry skin: A useful option for makeup lovers who prefer a hydrated, luminous looking base.
Combination skin: Apply a thin layer across the face, using less on areas that become oily quickly.
Dewy makeup lovers: Suitable for everyday glow, soft glam and occasion makeup.
People who prefer lightweight complexion makeup: Pair it with a BB cream for a simpler base routine.

If you have very oily skin or prefer a shine free, pore blurring finish, a more mattifying primer may suit you better. You can explore the MARS Zero Primer Pore Perfecting Primer 25ml for a different makeup base option.

If your skin is sensitive or fragrance reactive, check the ingredient list carefully because this primer contains fragrance. Patch testing before full face application is a sensible precaution.

Why Choose This Primer?

The main appeal of this MARS face primer is its combination of a gripping makeup base and a dewy finish. It is worth considering if you want your foundation to sit over a radiant looking base instead of a flat, matte surface.

You can pair it with the MARS BB Cream Lightweight Foundation for a lightweight everyday makeup look. If you want additional luminosity on the high points of your face, the MARS God’s Glow Illuminator Highlighter is another option to consider.

These products serve different purposes: the primer prepares the skin, the BB cream adds complexion coverage, and the illuminator adds targeted glow.

How to Use

Start with a clean face and apply your usual moisturizer and sunscreen, if using during the day.
Allow your skincare to settle before applying the primer.
Take a small amount and spread it evenly over your face using clean fingertips.
Allow the primer to settle for around one to two minutes before applying foundation or BB cream.
Gently press or blend your complexion product over the primer rather than rubbing aggressively.
If needed, use setting powder on the forehead, nose and chin, followed by setting spray for your preferred makeup finish.

Beauty tip: For humid weather, begin with a thin layer. Too much primer combined with heavy skincare and foundation can make makeup feel slippery or look uneven.

Is MARS It’s Glow O’ Clock Primer suitable for oily skin?

It can be considered if you enjoy a radiant finish, but very oily skin may become shinier throughout the day. Use a small amount and set oil prone areas with powder.

Will it make makeup last all day in Bangladesh’s humidity?

It is designed to help makeup adhere, but all day wear is not guaranteed. Sweat, oil production, skincare layering and the foundation you use will affect the result.

Can I use this primer with BB cream?

Yes. Apply the primer first, allow it to settle, and then blend your BB cream over it. Start with a thin layer of each product to avoid a heavy or uneven base.
