Detailed Product Overview

The Adventures Start After Dark palette contains six shades built around a cool grey toned colour story. The official P.Louise description identifies four buttery soft mattes and two vibrant shimmers. The mattes are useful for building transition and depth, while the shimmers add a more noticeable reflective finish to the eyelid.

The formula includes ingredients such as talc, mica, caprylic/capric triglyceride, synthetic fluorphlogopite, dimethicone and silica. The shimmer shades also contain calcium sodium borosilicate and tin oxide, ingredients commonly used to create a more reflective appearance in pressed eye makeup.

This is primarily an eye makeup palette, so its strongest use case is creating smoky, cool toned eye looks rather than providing a wide variety of everyday colourful combinations.

Texture, Finish and Real Life Experience

The four matte shades are described by P.Louise as soft and buttery, while the two shimmer shades are designed for a more intense, sparkling finish.

For a smoky eye, start with one of the lighter mattes and gradually build the deeper shades around the outer corner and crease. The shimmer shades can then be placed on the centre or inner portion of the lid when you want more dimension.

In Bangladesh’s warm and humid climate, eye makeup can naturally feel more challenging during long days. Using an appropriate eyeshadow primer underneath can help create a more suitable base, particularly if your eyelids tend to become oily. This palette itself should not be considered a substitute for an eye primer.

Who Is It For?

This palette is a good choice for:

Anyone who enjoys cool toned smoky eye makeup
Makeup lovers who prefer grey, taupe and deeper neutral tones
2000s inspired makeup enthusiasts
Night out, party and evening makeup looks
Anyone looking for a compact palette instead of a large eyeshadow collection
Makeup artists or enthusiasts who regularly create smoky eye looks

If you mainly wear warm brown, peach or golden eyeshadow, the cool grey toned colour story may feel less versatile for your everyday makeup. A larger multi toned palette may be more suitable if you want many different colour families in one product.

Why Customers Choose This Palette

The main appeal is its focused colour story. Instead of having dozens of shades to sort through, you get a small selection specifically arranged around a cool smoky eye. The combination of four mattes and two shimmers also gives you the basic textures needed to create depth and then add brightness or sparkle to the lid.

If you prefer a much larger all in one palette with blush, glow and a broader selection of eyeshadow finishes, the P.Louise Breakfast Bites All In One Makeup Palette offers a different approach.

How To Use

Apply an eyeshadow primer if you normally use one.
Use a lighter matte shade through the crease as your transition.
Build a deeper matte shade into the outer corner and crease.
Blend the shades together with a clean fluffy brush.
Apply one of the shimmer shades to the lid using a flat brush or fingertip for a more intense effect.
Add the deeper matte close to the lash line for extra definition.
Blend the edges until the smoky effect looks seamless.

For a softer daytime version, use less of the deeper matte shades and keep the shimmer concentrated on the centre of the lid.

Is it suitable for a smoky eye?
Yes. The palette is specifically designed around a grey toned cool colour story and includes four mattes plus two shimmers, making smoky eye makeup its main strength.

Will it work for Bangladesh’s humid weather?
The palette can be used in humid conditions, but individual wear will depend on your eyelid type, application and whether you use an eyeshadow primer. If your lids become oily, a suitable primer can help provide a more stable base.

Is it suitable for everyday makeup?
It can be, especially if you prefer cool neutral eye looks. However, the grey toned colour story is more specifically suited to smoky and evening makeup than a broad everyday neutral palette.
