Detailed Product Overview

The main focus of this primer is hydration rather than oil control or pore blurring. Its formula contains Niacinamide, Glycerin, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Sodium Hyaluronate, Trehalose and Sorbitol, which are included in the published ingredient list. It also contains algae extract, caffeine, botanical extracts and Tocopheryl Acetate.

Triple Hyaluronic Acid is highlighted by Smashbox as a key hydrating feature. Hyaluronic acid based ingredients help the skin hold onto moisture, while ingredients such as glycerin and hydroxyethyl urea support the formula’s moisturising feel.

This is important when choosing a primer because not every primer is designed to solve the same problem. Smashbox positions Primerizer+ for normal to dry skin, with a soft, dewy finish. If your main concern is excess shine or oil control, a mattifying primer may be a more suitable type of product.

Texture, Finish and Real Life Experience

The formula is described as lightweight, breathable and silky, with a soft dewy finish. It is designed to smooth the skin and help foundation glide over the surface more comfortably.

For dry skin, this type of finish can be useful when you want makeup to look fresher instead of overly powdery. In Bangladesh’s warm and humid weather, however, the dewy finish may look more luminous as the day progresses, particularly if your skin is already oily. For combination skin, using a smaller amount on oilier areas can help keep the overall base more balanced.

It is not primarily a pore minimizing or mattifying primer, so it should not be chosen specifically for strong shine control.

Who Is It For?

Ideal for:

• Normal to dry skin
• Skin that feels dehydrated before makeup
• Makeup that tends to look dry or less fresh
• Anyone who prefers a soft, dewy complexion
• People looking for a lightweight hydrating makeup base

It can also work for combination skin when used selectively, but very oily skin may prefer a primer specifically formulated for oil control.

Smashbox describes the formula as non acnegenic and dermatologist tested, although individual skin tolerance can still vary.

Why Customers Choose This Primer

The main appeal is the combination of hydration and makeup preparation in one lightweight product. Instead of choosing a strongly smoothing silicone primer, this formula focuses on replenishing moisture while creating a comfortable canvas for makeup.

It can also be worn alone when you want hydrated, fresh looking skin without foundation. Smashbox specifically recommends using it either alone or underneath makeup.

How To Use

Start with clean skin and your usual skincare routine.
Apply a pea sized amount of Primerizer+ over the face.
Smooth it evenly across the skin.
Allow your skincare and primer to settle comfortably before applying foundation.
Continue with foundation, concealer and the rest of your makeup.

For a more natural looking finish, avoid applying too much primer. A thin, even layer is usually enough to prepare the skin.
